What's with the Jacket?

That day, my youngest brother, D, asked me an interesting question. Aku pun lupa about it until tadi aku gi Wisma.
Kat Taka garden (alah, park yang between Wisma and Ngee Ann City tu), dekat-dekat mana aku park motor (illegal arr...) aku nampak this couple Melayu. Typical couple ah, age around 23~25 gitu ah..

Guy: Jacket long sleeve, Berms, Sandal and mesh cap.
Gerl: Speg Top, seluar minah, selipar minah.

Here's the question yang D tanye aku that time.

D: Abang, kenapa panas-panas orang tu pakai baju long-sleeve?
Me: Pasal dia sejuk agaknye.
D: Cold then why is he sweating? Bukak je ah jacket dia..
Me: Entah. Maybe dia pakai gitu style kot..

How do I tell my 6-year old brother, yang that Matrip tengah sembunyikkan Tattoo? Okay, maybe dia takde tattoo, and dia betol-betol sejuk. Tapi kan, nowadays the weather is sooooooooooo hot, orang gila aje pakai jacket time matahari tengah terik.

My 12-year old brother understands this kinda stuff, but my 6 year old bother doesn't. How do I explain all this to him?

From what I know, whole arm tattoos are not cheap. And from what I know too, people in general (mats and minah's included) like to 'display' and show-off their expensive stuff. BUT when it comes to tattoos... I guess its a different thing altogether.

It has always been related to gangs, and bad company and what not. Some tatts are meaningful, others just takde makna langsung. Some are nice, while others are merepek. Why Hide?

Takut kena pukol?
Takut orang tak suka?
Takut orang macam aku kutuk-kutuk kau rabak-rabak?

Then why have it in the first place?

Pasal style?
Pasal nak tunjuk terror?
Pasal nak tunjuk orang yang ko ni budak baju?

Then Why hide it under a sleeve?

So...

Before you actually commit to a tattoo, think about this.
How much will it cost me to have it now?
What is the meaning of this tattoo?
How will society, and other people react toward YOU after you have hte tattoo?
What if you don't want it anymore? How much will it cost to remove it? What are the scars?

If you can handle all these issues, then go ahead.

Simply said, Kalau nak adakan, biar orang tahu.
Kalau taknak orang tahu, jangan adakan.

With that, I rest my case.
